Justin Timberlake channeled his inner “Happy Gilmore” while taking some swings at a Topgolf location over the weekend. As funny as it was, the venue frowns on anyone trying to copy Adam Sandler’s iconic character–it’s even written in the waiver. Topgolf issued JT a hilarious warning via Twitter saying, “we aren’t necessarily mad, we’re just disappointed in him. We’ll try to reach out to his reps, BUT we may just have to call his mom.”
The Oscars had been struggling to find a host for its 2019 broadcast — but landed on Kevin Hart. Following lackluster ratings and the La La Land Best Picture snafu, A-listers aren’t clamoring for the top emcee spot.
The Hollywood Reporter says that everyone who’s anyone had turned it down, including Oprah, Justin Timberlake, Julia Louis-Drefyus, Jerry Seinfeld, and even Tina Fey and Amy Poehler as a team effort, who successfully helmed the Golden Globes a few years back.
The job requires weeks of work for a paltry low-six figures; the media, critics and fans inevitably rip the host to shreds; and the show does little to make the host more visible or famous.
Justin Timberlake had to postpone his concert in Los Angeles on Monday night due to bruised vocal cords. This is the second concert this month that the 37-year-old had to cancel to rest his voice; he canceled his performance at the Tacoma Dome in Washington earlier this month. He also postponed two concerts in October for the same reason. Fans who were going to attend the concert in L.A. are being told to hold onto their tickets as the venue pledges to honor them for the rescheduled event—which is to be determined.
Justin Timberlake is out with a new photo book, chronicling some big moments from his rocket-ship ride to superstardom. One of the major revelations surrounds ex-girlfriend Britney Spears. It’s been long speculated that his 2002 hit “Cry Me A River” is about her, but in the book he reveals he wrote it two hours after they called it quits. He doesn’t name her directly, but given the timing and the blonde Britney lookalike who appears in the song’s music video, everyone knows who he’s talking about.
Justin Timberlake has taken $400,000 off the asking price for his SoHo townhouse. He listed it in March for $7.995 million — now that’s down to $6.35 million. It’s a great property, at 2600 square feet, wraparound terrace, and plenty of amenities in the building.
Justin Timberlake shared a photo of himself working on his computer, captioning it “doing work…on my book”. Timberlake’s wife Jessica Biel took the opportunity to give the singer quite the compliment. Biel wrote, “Always in awe of your big…brain”. So cheeky! Timberlake is writing a book called Hindsight & All the Things I Can’t See In Front of Me. The book is said to “give readers a peek into [his] creative process through an intimate collection of images from his personal archives that range from childhood to present day”. It hits bookstores October 30.
