While it shocked everyone when Meghan Markle showed up at The Fashion Awards, to support her wedding dress designer Clare Waight Keller, what went down behind the scenes was quite the operation.
Meghan had an extreme level of security with her at the event. According to TMZ, no one was allowed to chat with the Duchess, no matter how famous that person may be. Also, the backstage area was “cordoned off by Royal Protection officers and security guards the whole night.” Hallways and stairways were also cleared out when she was walking around.
Apparently, some other famous stars in attendance—Kendall Jenner, Rita Ora and the Beckhams—were upset about what they felt to be obnoxious security.
