Chip and Joanna Gaines have purchased the ultimate fixer upper. The home improvement superstars bought a historic landmark in Waco, TX—the rundown Cottonland Castle. The castle took 23 years to build (1890-1913) and has sat empty for the past 20 years, despite various attempts to update it. The 6,700 sq foot German style castle includes a 9-foot oak front door—weighing 400lbs—8 fireplaces, Honduran mahogany mill-work and intricate diamond-paned windows.
It remains undetermined what the HGTV stars plan to do with the place, but a spokesperson for their company—Magnolia—said “their efforts will focus on fully completing the home’s long overdue and well deserved restoration.”
