The woman accusing Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax of sexually assaulting her at a Democratic National Convention more than ten years ago is speaking out. In a statement released Wednesday afternoon, Dr. Vanessa Tyson describes the incident in 2004 in which Fairfax used the pretense of getting some paperwork in a hotel room to lure her into the room. One of Tyson’s colleagues says she described the incident last fall. Fairfax says the encounter was consensual.
