  1. The economy is back — stocks in January hit a 30 year high.
  2. A federal appeals court has upheld a district court ruling that San Fransisco’s health warning label for sugary beverages violates the First Amendment. The sticker that would declare sugary drinks contribute to obesity simply cannot be proven, the court unanimously ruled.
  3. finished Q4 with profits exceeding $3 billion. That’s a 63% jump year over year, and the third straight record-breaking quarter for the company. 2018 was also the first year Amazon exceeded $200 billion in sales.
  4. The oil industry is back in the USA — so much so that so much is being produced it can’t be shipped across the country quickly enough. Companies are turning to trains to haul crude — 88% more so than the same time last year.
  5. Kraft Heinz is betting big on their porn-themed Super Bowl ad to sell its “Devour” line of frozen desserts. Ads for the meals appeared extensively on the website this week.
