A chunk—literally—of Marilyn Monroe is up for grabs. A 60-year-old hair clipping—approximately 35 strands—from the collection of Kenneth Battelle, along with a framed photo of the actress, is being sold by Moments In Time for $16,500.
Kenneth was Marilyn’s hairdresser from 1958 until her death in 1962 and reportedly took pieces of his client’s hair and made them into gifts for his closest friends. The portion up for grabs is dated June 14, 1959. It is unclear if that’s when he cut the hair or when he gifted it to a friend.
