Following a 123-115 win over the New Orleans Pelicans, Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo jokingly tried to recruit the soon to be free agent Anthony Davis to join him in Milwaukee.
Giannis saw Davis in the hallway at Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum and said, “Come to the Bucks, man, come to the Bucks.”
Entering Wednesday Davis was the leading the NBA in efficiency, scoring 28 points per game, 12.3 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game.
Davis will be eligible for free agency in 2020 and should he opt out of his contract he will be a top free agent target, especially if the Pelicans decide to deal him instead of losing him and not getting anything in return.
Antetokounmpo isn’t the only NBA star that wants to team with Davis. LeBron James would like to see him a Laker purple and gold.
Regardless of where Davis ends up his whereabouts will be a hot button topic for years. He is one of the league’s most versatile players and will turn 26 in March. He’s and asset on both ends of the floor and he’d form a super team if he were to pair with either LeBron or Giannis.
The question is whether we’ll see that happen.
