Cubs’ Bryant Turns Down Enormous Offer

Cubs’ third baseman
Kris Bryant has reportedly turned down an offer for a long-term contract
extension “well north of $200 million dollars.”

Dealing with
a shoulder injury prevented Bryant from having a “Kris Bryant type year.”

Bryant and
his agent Scott Boras, turned down the offer preferring instead to go year to
year in arbitration.

Bryant won’t
be a free agent until he turns 30. Giving him 3 years of arbitration that could
be even more lucrative should he rebound with the type of seasons he had in
2016 and 2017. However, the risk could be great should his production not
rebound or he suffers another injury.

Much to risk
and Bryant is betting on himself.
