George Taliaferro Has Died

George Taliaferro has passed away at 91 years old, per reports from his alma mater, Indiana University. The running back, quarterback and punter was a superstar in the late 1940s and was the first African-American player to be drafted by the NFL, prompting the nickname “The Jackie Robinson of Football.” While playing for the league, he “earned Pro Bowl honors in three of his six seasons.”
