Royal Petition

A petition is going around asking the “House of Commons to urge the Government to commit no public money [toward] the wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, and to publish a report of all costs to taxpayers.” If the taxpayers get their way, the Royal Family would have to personally finance the “extravagant and pricey wedding”; security alone costs £2 Million (about $2.6 Million). As of Friday, the petition had 7,000 signatures. The wedding is set for October 12. There has been no comment from Kensington Palace.

Meg and Harry Take the Train!

Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry are keeping in touch with common folk. The royal pair were spotted leaving a train in Leicester earlier this week. Video of the royal couple holding hands and swarmed by security was posted to Twitter. This is on the heels of Meghan horrifying onlookers by closing her own car door after arriving to an event earlier this week. Royals … they’re just like us!

Samantha Markle: Royal Stalker

Samantha Markle can now add royal stalker to her crazy half-sister resume. Markle has been hanging out in Italy, with plans to fly to London, in hopes of getting a meeting with Duchess Megan; she shouldn’t hold her breath. A friend of Meghan’s told The Daily Mail that “there is not a chance in hell that Meghan is going to lower herself and meet with her half-sister”. According to Markle’s manager, she hopes to discuss their father’s failing health with the Duchess. What. A. Mess.

Duchess Kate: Comeback Queen

Prince William and Duchess Kate…disgustingly adorable, right? Their relationship hasn’t always been tiaras and crumbcakes though. In fact, the couple broke up for a brief time while in college. Two theories have emerged, according to Cosmo, as to why the break-up occurred. First, Kate accidently used the word “toilet” in front of the Queen, an alleged incident that was dubbed “toiletgate”—totally serious! Second—and probably the most likely reason—William moved to an army camp in Dorset while Kate stayed in London, putting a strain on their young relationship. Regardless of the reason, Kate totally won the break-up. She was seen “living her best life” in Ireland and the tabloids couldn’t get enough. The Daily Mail published an article about how Kate started dating William’s best friend Henry Ropner. William had previously dated one of Ropner’s exes which means the new couple was getting double revenge. But at last, a few weeks into the separation and William won back his Queen—I mean Duchess—and the rest is history.

Duchess Slays at Solo Event

Meghan Markle “slayed” at her first solo royal appearance–the opening of the Oceania exhibit at the Royal Academy. The Duchess got to view 200 pieces of art from New Zealand, Fiji, Australia and the Kingdom of Tonga; all countries Markle will be visiting with Prince Harry on their upcoming royal tour. While at the event, Markle proved she is just like the rest of us…sort of. The Duchess was seen shutting her own car door! This seems like a totally normal thing to do right? Not for the wife of a Prince. A person opened the door for Markle to exit the vehicle and before that same person could shut the door behind her, the Duchess did the deed herself. Proving her royal status has not gone to her head…yet.

Duke & Duchess In Amsterdam

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle jet-setted off to Amsterdam. The newlyweds snuck away to attend the opening of SoHo House’s newest location. A source told Us Weekly that the couple “were smiling and looking very happy with each other, very much in love”. The Prince and Duchess are very good friends with SoHo House consultant Markus Anderson. In fact, Anderson was the one who set the two up on that infamous blind date last year. Other celebs who attended the event, included Eddie Redmayne, Stanley Tucci and Jenna Coleman.

Royal Perks

Best perk of being a royal? Two words: Sovereign Immunity. This law states that the monarch aka the Queen is immune from arrest…no matter what. The other members of the royal family don’t have as big of an exception, but there are certain laws they catch a break on. The Princes, Princesses, Dukes and Duchesses cannot be arrested in civil proceedings and cannot be arrested in front of the Queen or anywhere near the palace. While the Queen believes in following and being surrounded by others who follow the laws, should something happen she wouldn’t be handcuffed and mirandized like the rest of us mere mortals.

Markle Reunion?

Despite previous reporting, MEGHAN MARKLE may be open to meeting with her father THOMAS MARKLE after all. The duchess is reportedly planning a trip to the United States to meet with her father this month; the dates and location are being kept top-secret. Whether this will be a reconciliation or a chance for Markle to make him sign an NDA are still up in the air. Stay tuned!
