Power Lunch: No really, Mary Burke Loves Wisconsin

We found out on Christmas Day that Mary Burke loves Wisconsin.

She’s not letting anyone forget it. In an email today, she reminds us again:

I got into this race because I love Wisconsin. This state has been really good to me and to my family, and as governor I’ll fight every day to make sure that good-paying jobs and opportunities are there for every family. (emphasis NOT mine!)

The crux of her fundraising plea is that, at the end of the year, the more money she has to report, the more formidable she’ll appear, especially against Scott Walker, who she calls “one of the most well funded candidates in the entire country.”

EMILY’s List — a special interest group that defends pro-choice Democrat women candidates — will match all online gifts over the next 60 hours, up to $42,500. But pay no mind; as governor, Ms. Burke will “fight for the priorities of the people of this state – not the special interests…”

Gov. Walker is yet to formally declare his candidacy on the Republican ticket, and there’s still no word from Kathleen Vinehout on a challenge to Ms. Burke.
