Happy Hour: GOP's Julian Bradley, Democrat team up for kids

La Crosse political figures Julian Bradley and Andrew Londre are teaming up to help kids in need this holiday season.

Mr. Bradley is La Crosse County GOP Chairman and 3rd District Vice Chairman. He’s also a speaker, having toured Wisconsin on a “Shattering Stereotypes” speaking tour where he talks about the civil rights history of the GOP.

Mr. Londre is a former chairman of the La Crosse County Democratic Party and current La Crosse County Board supervisor. This is the second year the two have paired up for the event.

Says News8000.com:

Republican and Democratic leaders found some common ground in La Crosse. They want to help children in need have a present this Christmas…

La Crosse Co. Republican Chair Julian Bradley and Democratic party member Andrew Londre are once again uniting to gather toys for the La Crosse Jaycees Toys for Tots program…

“We realize that we both have goals for our community and this is one of our common goals, and I’m sure there are many more,” said Julian Bradley.

“Certainly, we’re going to disagree on a lot of political matters, but at the end of the day who doesn’t think that it’s a great idea to collect toys for children in need and try to help them out?” said Andrew Londre.

“Together for Toys” will include donation bins at the Black River Beach House starting on Monday. Folks can drop toys off from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Last year, according to Mr. Bradley, the “Together for Tots” bin was the most successful toy donation site in La Crosse County.
